Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin–Gorgeous

Even though there was a mix up with our reservation,

and the fact that we don’t have 50 amp or sewer,

we have decided we are going to stay for the month we have reserved. . .

Cave Point County Park

here’s why. . .look at this. . .this place is gorgeous. . .and that water is COLD. . .

There are a lot of things to love, that make us think it will be worth it to stay,

plus, Jackie, the manager has made every effort to make it work,

even going so far as offering to move us to one of the “long term lease” sites. . .

but . . .it’s way back in the woods. . .and we like the nice, open site we’re in,

even if it is only 30 amp. . .as long as it stays cool, we’ll be fine,

AND. . .they are going to bring the honey wagon

at least once per week (free of charge – normally $10)

haven’t ever done the honey wagon. . .not real sure about that. . .

but I guess we’ll be giving it a go. . .here’s hoping it’s okay.

I do think the mistake was made with the call center. . .

I have all our paperwork laid out, and will be giving them a call to clarify. . .

but as best as I can tell . . .when all is said and done. . .

we are really getting a steal of a deal. . .since, unbelievable as it seems,

this site normally rents for $42 per night, water and electric only. . .yikes!

and we are paying about a third of that. . .so. . .allrighty then!

With that settled, we decided to venture out on a field trip. . .

Lake Michigan at Whitefish Dunes State Park

there are 5 State Parks and 10 Lighthouses to explore. . .

so we stopped at Whitefish Dunes and purchased our

State Park Pass – $35 for out of state. . .not bad,

and we learned that out of state fishing license are

reasonably priced as well. . . so we are excited about that!

Cave Point County Park

but the absolute highlight of the day was our discovery of

Cave Point County Park. . .and absolute jewel of a park. . .

Cave Point County Park

this rock shelf reminded us of our time spent in Maine last summer. . .

can’t wait to see what all we discover in the next 26 days. . .

Read somewhere that Sturgeon Bay is considered

the Cape Cod of the Midwest. . .

I think I’m liking it better than Cape Cod. . .we shall see!

Sturgeon Bay Cherries

oh. . .and cherry season supposedly starts the beginning of July. . .can’t wait for that!

See you tomorrow at the Farmer’s Market. . .

‘til next time,

Janice and Dave
